Teaching with a passion while learning new cultures.
Hi my name is Jelisa Inoa. During the pandemic, I left my job as a dentist to dedicate myself to teaching Spanish as a second language. I never thought that my passion, which had been volunteering for more than eight years helping foreign students, would become my new profession.
Nowadays, I have been teaching and sharing my culture with hundreds of people around the world for more than two years.
My main objective is to help all people of Dominican origin, whether they are family or friends, who want to learn the language and feel more connected to our culture. Languages connect us, and Dominican Spanish is one of them.
My student’s experiences
We are from all the world and connect by a language.

I have been a student of Jelisa’s for almost 2 years and she is absolutely the best teacher EVER! She talks very slow, pronounces every word perfectly, comes up with cool and interesting ways to learn, and she also talks to me throughout the day. She is very lively, funny, and energetic! It’s so easy to learn from her. I have improved so much in the past 2 years! I’ve also learned a lot about Dominican culture that I’ve found very cool and interesting. Like the “tres golpes” a traditional breakfast in the DR, I’ve learned the history of “se fue la luz”, AND it’s impossible to listen to a Dominican conversation and not hear the word “vaina” jaja! Although I haven’t visited the island yet, I know that Dominicans are very fun people with an embracing culture! I highly recommend her; she is simply the best
